MSU Rotaract Club General Meeting 9/26 Minutes

Big International Project

  • Nyaka office is having drop in hours for envelope stuffing

    • Go and learn more about our International Project

    • This Saturday (September 28th) and October 19th

    • Time: 11:00am-4:00pm

    • Address, stuff, seal, and stamp envelopes 

    • Location - 2790 East Lake Lansing Road

  • If anyone has any ideas for fundraising please let us know

    • Any ideas? See the international service committee 

  • Go to Education Abroad Expo for opportunities to volunteer abroad 

Philanthropy and community Service

  • Volunteer at the MSU Food Bank 

    • Every other Wednesday from 5pm to 7:45pm at Olin Health Center 

    • They only take the first couple of people from the line, so get there early to make sure you can participate.

  • Sexton High School food donations!

    • We are collecting food donations for those in need at sexton high school . 

    • Options: you can donate your combo, cereal boxes, granola bars

    • Please bring individually wrapped food

Social Events

  • After meetings 

    • Crafts, snacks, drinks, and giveaways while supplies last

    • Other events

Study Sessions

  • Lunch on Sunday, October 6th

  • Location: Brody, Snyder-Phillips, or other 

  • Time: noon 

  • Card games, mini board games

  • Bring your homework, study for exams, work on projects, hang out, whatever you want!

Tentative Dates (Location dining hall on campus)

  • Week of Oct. 14-18th Week of Nov. 18-22nd

  • First week of November Thursday, December 5th (time of our last meeting)


  • Operations and Professional Development Committee

    • Speaker invitation, speaker accommodations, venue set-up, dinner/luncheon arrangement, networking opportunities, business site visits, RI site visits

  • International Service & Community Service Committee

    • Community service projects, member involvement in events, work with Rotary Clubs

    • Updates regarding international project, including: fundraising, planning, logistics, etc.

    • Fundraising!!!

  • Social Event Planning Committee

    • Pitching and planning events to foster a bond among club members

    • Figuring out dates and costs associated to social events, and promoting them to the club to generate interest

        • Partnering with installing fire alarms in at-risk communities

        • Helping with accommodations if needed
